Moving to Dallas / Ft. Worth and need a plumber?
Although we are not technically a “plumbing company,” we work with dozens of different plumbers on a weekly basis. DeLong Services is a leak specialist. We work with plumbers who can’t find sub slab leaks or don’t have the equipment to.
Hopefully you’re not welcomed to North Texas home-ownership by nasty plumbing problems, but you can’t be too prepared. When moving to a new city, you’ll have to find a new set of service professionals in your area like mechanics, electricians, carpenters, landscapers, and of course a plumber.
Establishing trust with service professionals is a process and it can take time to find the right one, but here are a few tips to help you in the process.
Ask friends and family…
This is the first place to start when looking for a plumber. Ask friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors. Personally, I think coworkers and neighbors are a great source of information, especially when moving to a new city. Many will have been here for years, if not born and raised here. A referral from a lifelong customer goes a long way with a service professional, especially plumbers who thrive on repeat business. Asking your neighbors for referrals is also a great way to “break the ice” when moving into a new community.
Online reviews are a great source of information, especially in a big city like Dallas / Ft. Worth. Leaving reviews for service professionals, like plumbers, is becoming standard practice these days. Keep in mind, it’s fairly easy to hire an advertising company to post fake reviews but 99% of the time you can tell a fake review right away.
Ask Established Professionals
If you’ve found the right mechanic or electrician, ask him or her who their plumber is. Many contractors work together on new construction projects and remodels. Jobs like these last for weeks, months, sometimes years. You can really get a sense of a company’s professionalism and work ethic when you see them work every day.
For the Dallas / Fort Worth area we recommend the following plumbers:
Mai Plumbing Company – This family owned and operated plumbing company is a staple out of Lake Highlands but they service all of Dallas and surrounding areas. We have worked with them for years and years and cannot say enough about the great work and follow through they bring to every job.
Hayes Plumbing – Roland Hayes is hard to find if you’re just searching the internet because all his business is referral based. He’s that good.
For the Denton area we recommend:
Sawyer Plumbing – Larry Sawyer has been in business for decades and is a great plumber. We’ve been locating his slab leaks since I can remember. He personally goes on all his jobs to meet his customers. Outstanding plumber.
If you believe you may have a sub slab water or sewer leak,
please call or email us right away to discuss your options. The longer you leave a leak, the worse and more expensive it becomes.
